How to get to RurrenabaqueThe best way to arrive to Rurrenabaque is by plane. You will often find promotional flights from La Paz.Rurre can also be reached by bus from La Paz, although during the rainy season the road may be cut. From La Paz the bus trip lasts 18-20 hours. Buses to Rurrenabaque also depart from Trinidad, Riberalta and Guayaramerin, and the trips are subject to the state of the route. | |

The tour to the Pampas of Yacuma lacks the lush jungle of Madidi, but it's highly recommended for those looking for wild animals. The Pampas are located on the ecosystem of Yacuma River, a few kilometers from the town of Santa Rosa del Yacuma and three hours from Rurrenabaque. On the walk you will see alligators, turtles, capybaras, monkeys, deer, tapirs, ostriches, snakes and a large variety of birds and butterflies. Navigating the river you will also see the pink (Amazonian) dolphins and experience piranhas fishing. | |
